Lynley, I agree with you that this discussion system is difficult to use... if you click on a message, you only see that message, not the whole line of discussion... and right now I wanted to make a comment on a website "bug", and can't figure out how to simply add to the discussion, except by a) answering you (which is always a pleasure) :-)
or starting a "new discussion" ????
and I have an option for adding 4 different videos to this note????
It seems that the Microsoft engineers are still in charge of the new website! :-D
What I find rather cumbersome is that if you reply to a post that you opened from My Nabuur you do not even know which Task it belongs to. That drives me crazy, trying to keep an overview over what's happening in the village and seeing if people post in the 'right' tasks.

Hi there,
Here's what I found on first inspection:
- in some places text is placed over other text: on the Project Room site in the end (the 'reads'), also the text related to the map is IN the map (in both the background and overview)
- in the news some special characters in the titles are not displayed correctly, same in the resources (e.g. Anjana's article)
best, angelika
Bramuel had around 98 pictures posted for the Kayole-Soweto village. The camera where he had these stored was stolen, so he is really hoping they can be restored to the site. I figured there might be an issue with the volume of pictures and the transfer-is there a maximum amount of storage per village?

Tejanath the LR from the Khandbari village and I tried to test out the chat feature in the village tonight. We could both get into the room, but neither of us could see what the other was typing. Once we were in the room, we couldn't exit it.
Is there a way in the chatroom to show who is logged into it?
Jennifer
As others have been having problems I decided to see whether I could post to chat in Kayole. I am using IE6.
Here is what happened to me...
Went into Social Chat. http://www.nabuur.com/en/chatrooms/chat/40
Why is there a 'view old messages' link - wouldn't it be easier to automatically display these, so people can join a chat halfway through and see what has been said already?
Typed my message and pressed Send. Messages displayed, alhtough it does say 'error on page' in the status bar at the bottom of the window.
Was able to exit via 'Home' link with no problem.
Went back into chat and was able to see my messages, although as I didn't actually have anyone to chat to, I don't know if I would have been able to see their messages.
This time I attempted to exit by pressing 'My Nabuur'. However the link did not work. Was eventually able to get out by clicking the 'Kayole Soweto chat' link which took me back to the list of open chats.
When I clicked 'My Nabuur' on the chat list page http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/kayole-soweto/chat/kayole-soweto-chat I was taken to a screen that said Page Not Found. Went back and tried it again, and it worked.
Villages have Chat, but Groups do not. Is that intentional? This group would probably be a good place to test it.

Some of the pictures on the Gallery pages are not displayed correctly, because they are very large. For example http://www.nabuur.com/en/village/kayole-soweto/image/barb-arrow-web-hosp...
Tried it in IE6 and only see a small piece of the picture as it won't scroll very far horizontally. In Firefox it will scroll, but some ot the text is over the top of the picture. Am running at a acreen resolution of 800x600.
Mary
Pelee, Rolf, Romina, whomever else is in on this, a discussion comment should not comparable to filling out an income tax form. What ever happened to the "advanced editing" features button?
We need to keep this simple. Why must I scroll way down to "send" my message?
Why all the small print?
When I check out a discussion, I want to be able to quickly and briefly figure out whether or not I can help.
This is some feedback from neighbors by email
Dear NABUUR's,
Just wanted to drop a line to say congratulations on having the new site up an running. It has really been a great effort and the site is looking much better now.
3 quick points that could be fixed easily and improve the current functionality:
1. Try to make the steps that are finished invisible so it gets let's confusing
2. CHange the name of general tasks to something less confusing
3. Give the option to change between oldest and latest messages first in the workspace.
Hope this helps and great work again,
Raul
Hi everyone,
A lot of the bugs you report here are being answered in the General Feedback thread. I just posted an overview of the bugs and comments/proposed solutions (if any, at this point, or if further investigation is needed) for most of them: http://www.nabuur.com/en/node/14334/unthreaded
I'll ask Frans if we can move your posts over there, and perhaps close this thread as the discussions are overlapping one another.
Though the questions posed below have answers in the other thread, I'll recap them here:
Manny
- The 'advanced edit option' is on the request list. It needs to be developed (couldn't be transferred automatically from the old site). Unsure of when it would be ready, but you'll be kept updated.
- Small print: Yes, it's been pointed out and personally I agree with it. Being looked into.
- Clicking on a message to reply/read and not seeing the whole thread: Being looked into with high priority.
- Scrolling down to 'send' message seems is a theming issue. Will follow up.
(Ouch on the Microsoft jab ;))
Mary
- Will check with Frans tomorrow re: picture sizing.
Jennifer
- Were the pictures in the gallery of the village or in other pages? (like My Story or Project, etc)
Lynley
- To leave the chat, you can click (village name) Chat at the top of the page. But not sure what you mean by you had to close the tab?
Romina
Dear Raul,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback.
1. Try to make the steps that are finished invisible so it gets let's confusing
Good idea, we are working on this right now.
2. CHange the name of general tasks to something less confusing
Not sure what you mean here. What do you suggest?
3. Give the option to change between oldest and latest messages first in the workspace.
This is ask by some other neighbours too. We are working it out now.
Warm Regards, Frans
Hi Frans,
What compression are you using for the intro video?. Even on a fast connection it is way too slow. Maybe a better compression could be used?
Raul
Hi Raul,
Maybe it also the place on the world you are, what make the video to hick-up. In South Africa I could have a (local) high speed connection, but most video's on youtube where not playable online:-)
In our issue queue we have an item how to solve the video problem for low speed connections. We have to give this some thought. I will add the compression to this issue.
Frans
Raul asked:
> Try to make the steps that are finished invisible so it gets let's confusing
Done.
Well on the 'Project Room' overview page. If you click through to the project itself (one link is the title itself) you can still see the finished tasks.

Many thanks - and thanks to all of you, for your marvellous work: which has made all this possible.
May it empower the poor all over the globe - who have a sense of initiative and purpose: and only need a helping hand, to get started.
And may they all find this wonderful web 2.0 platform of positive change - and use it to improve the quality of their lives.
Stay blessed, "Team Ameersfoot" - and congratulations for a job, very well done, indeed: from someone who admires and likes all of of you, very much! :)
Warmest regards,
Kofi.
