Conflicts have caused social and economic havoc in Uvira, DRC. Many people in the village have lost their means of employment and the youth have limited hopes of finishing their studies.

In February, after nearly 5 months, computers that were sent to Jinja Central last year finally reached their destination. After unpacking, the installation and testing of the computers, the training began with 5 computers.

JoHo is an (inter-)national organization with the goal to set up as many centers as possible, dealing with work, travel and international cooperation. The main focuses of the organization are passing on knowledge, promoting international contacts and awareness and giving advice.

Close the Gap is an international non-profit organisation, which actively helps to bridge this digital divide. This is achieved by lengthening the life-span of Western IT equipment, which is replaced at an ever-increasing rate, even though it is still more than compatible for current use.
