Hi everyone-
Tejanath and I spoke yesterday for quite some time about the project. The local community remains very invested in further development of the website (www.sankhuwasabha.com). We talked a lot about the website being a tool for marketing versus the entire focus of the project. I explained that right now I feel the focus is a bit like putting "the cart before the horse." Tejanath proposed first developing the website and then coming up with a plan for approaching tourism. I explained to him that it should actually be the other way around.

I came across this one tonight too and it also looks like a good one. At first I thought that it was only for projects here in the US, but looking through the Fall grantees there are a few grantees for projects based in developing countries as well.
Application guidelines are located here:

I did note that proposals cannot be accepted via email-they need a paper copy.

This is an excellent resource/lesson plan guide that could be used for community-based training about the topic of HIV/AIDS.

As OKE foundation (stichting) in Holland we are in close contact with MES committee (NGO) in Sondu, S Nyanza, Kenya.
One of the committee members has taken the initiative to start a sporting club for idle young people in town. He only has some self-built equipment for power lifting.
I think it is a good idea to help him in one way or another.
Maybe a professional from a sportschool can go there (on a holiday)see the situation.
First to advise him and second to help him, or help him to find help.
