Help write applications and proposals to support the hospital.
Step:
2
Using the list of organizations we identify in the task above, we are seeking people to help us complete applications and write funding proposals. Any assistance that we are successful in obtaining will help offset costs to the hospital and to promote additional growth and service development.

Dear All
I have drafted the funding letter in WIKI.
You are welcome to edit it,if necessary.
Best regards,
Sushmita,
India
Bramuel & Jennifer,
Attached is my attempt at filling out the African Diaspora Medical Project RFA for the hospital beds.
Please review it carefully and edit it as needed. If it is ok, perhaps you can send it off to the charity.
Warm Regards,
Marge
Hi Marge
Wao good job done I will go through the proposal and make some changes mainly on the board of management this one is staffs of the hospital and not the board

Bramuel
Marge-
I cannot begin to tell you how appreciative I am of you taking the time to work on this. I truly appreciate all of the time and attention you put into this. This will be very helpful to us as we move forward.
Bramuel and I just finished the proposal to Friends of Kenya and asked for them to support funding toward the beds. I submitted this today. We were talking about actually using this one to see if we can get support for the x-ray machine, so I'll talk more with Bramuel and make a decision about what support we should request, but this makes it so much easier because it is easily adjustable.
Again, I am so very appreciative of your efforts and contributions to our project so far. They have been very invaluable.
:-D :-D :-D
Thank you again!
Jennifer
Jennifer & Bramuel,
Happy that the document was useful.
Great to hear that you have sent a funding request for the beds to Friends of Kenya. It will be wonderful if they respond quickly!
The RFA format for the African Diaspora group is nice in that only the last page needs to be modified for the specific assistance requested and the associated budget. It would be great if they would fund some of the bigger ticket items like the x-ray machine.
Blessings,
Marge

Hi guys!
Great to see so much progress with those two applications! - good luck! Sorry I haven't been around much to help, although I have probably found all the potential sources of funding I can for now - any more I do find I will add to my google docs list and post on here.
Bramuel mentioned in his news post that the hospital still has a need for drugs. Haven't found any more contacts for that - anything I did find is in an old task wiki but I think you tried them all.
But AMDA who I know you are applying to for funding also supply medical supplies http://www.admproject.org/admproject/hands.html so don't know if you are going to try for that too? If Arrow can get donated supplies, then maybe it means they have more money of their own to buy drugs...
Its also possible that applying to set up a link through THET Health Links
http://www.thet.org.uk/index.php?/page/index/getinvolved.html could lead to many things including funding and drugs over the longer term, but I don't know if this is something Bramuel is interested in or not?
Mary
Hi Mary
Thanks for you comment I think you have not understand me well we are operating in a very tied budged after what has happen moving the hospital to the new side
So for now Arrow has no any money that may can be assist the hospital.
Hi Bramuel
Apologies for any misunderstanding from me. I found your income and expenses docs under Resources which suggest that you need and manage to raise about US$2900 a month, but I guess that the rent increase has had an effect on that.
On the drugs front, is the hope that it will be possible to find a long-term free supply or that this will be a one-off. Then looking at other ways to raise money for the hospital, either by trying to find long-term outside support (probably not easy), or looking at finding other local ways to create income?
Mary
A possibility is http://www.blessing.org/
Hi Mary
Yes you are write the hospital has been raising some of his budget for the last 3 years but since we moved to the new side has affected the hospital a lot remember the rent we pay plus a deposit three months rent has cost the hospital monthly budget.
and now the hospital is operating in very min-moll budget and even the Kenyan live has become very difficult to many people because of high price on the important things like food and other thing used mostly to the poor mananchi/community even after reading the budget nothing has chanced up date.
wao
Bramuel
Hi Bramuel
I replied to the email you sent me a few days about having difficulties applying to THET for a partnership, but I am not sure whether you received it? I got a delivery failure message, but I know that you usually get the emails OK.
Just in case you didn't get it, I will post it here too:
Are you having problems because the website is not working properly, or because you are not sure what you need to do to request a link?
http://www.thet.org.uk/index.php?/page/index/healthlinks.html is the main Health Links page, with http://www.thet.org.uk/index.php?/page/index/getinvolved.html giving more information about the benefits of linking with a UK hospital, how to request a link, and application forms.
It recommends that before applying, you should discuss with others at the hospital and work out exactly what you want to achieve from the link - the application form also asks questions about this.
The application form is available as an online form (which you fill in on the website) at http://contact.thet.org.uk/form.php. There is also a Word version (available from the site) which I have attached in case that is easier for you.
Hope that helps - let me know if you need any more info.
Mary
Hi Mary
Thank you I got the mail but am not sure of what exactly their do since there is clear information on their website.
I sked the other people in the hospital and their also asked me the same question that whats is the benfit to the community or what exactly their do.
Best wishes
Bramuel
Hi Bramuel
To quote from http://www.thet.org.uk/index.php?/page/index/healthlinks.html
Also take a look at the Publications page at http://www.thet.org.uk/index.php?/page/index/downloadablepublications.ht... especially the one called "an introduction to health links" which is a small file which gives a summary of what links are about.
If they are not to large for you to download, the Links Manual and Making an Impact report available from the same page give a lot more detailed information about links, including examples of how others have benefitted. If you can't download them, the page says its possible to get printed copies - maybe they will send them at no cost to an African hospital.
So... these links are not about finding funding or sources of drugs/equipment for the hospital (although it is a possiblity that this could happen longer term if the hospital you are linked with decides to raise money etc), but about forming a long-term relationship with a hospital in the UK, sharing information and getting access to people who may be able to help you increase the skills of your staff and find solutions to problems. Is that something you would be intested in?
If you are unsure whether this is something you could benefit from, I would suggest contacting them to see if they can provide you with more detailed information and examples of current links, maybe give you contact details of a hospital similar to Arrow that is already part of a Link, and whether they can answer any specific questions you have. Contact details are at http://www.thet.org.uk/index.php#page/index/healthlinks.html
Mary
Bramuel and I received an email today from Friends of Kenya asking us to answer a few questions about our proposal for the hospital beds. They meet next month and our request will be presented at that meeting, so we hope to hear back again from them soon!
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer
That's great news!!
Have you heard anything from ADMA or are you waiting to see what FOK say before putting that application in?
