Research and Identify Volunteer Organizations

Many people who travel to Nepal to volunteer also go trekking. For this task, we would like to research and again develop a database of volunteer organizations who place volunteers in Nepal many times to help in the schools. This research will be used to reach out and establish relationships with organizations who may be interested in learning more about the Sankhuwasabha district and all it has to offer those who come to visit.

This morning, I began devising a list of volunteer organizations and contact information. This will be better transferred into an Excel spreadsheet I think, but I wanted to get us started. This is another area where there are literally hundreds of agencies out there, so again, as with the other task, I feel like we should target a specific number, or at least talk about what might be a good "qualifier" to look for before making contact.

The other issue I think we need to discuss is that when making contact to discuss the Sankhuwasabha district and what it has to offer for tourists, we need to make sure we have information that highlights the area. Tejanath are there existing pamphlets, travel brochures, pictures that could be shared...do the two hotels have any marketing information?

I would like to infrom you all that Coming November 17 th I am flying to Kathmandu to complete the Sankhuwasabah website.
The designer could not understand what to do and how to do it.

I tried to advise him on the telephone but failed.

So I am going there for for some days.

However. I will always be in contact with you and also all the neighbours.

I hope most of the infrmation about the tourisn in Sankhuwaasbah will come through the www.sankhuwasabha.com website

If you could make the time in kathmandu to collect as much information from the tourist areas on existing trekking groups and also any other information that a tourist might read such as details brochures on accommodaton, any cultural ones etc. This information can help inform you later on on the kind of info we need to have on the website.

At the recent Responsible Tourism Awards in London, the winner of the category "Best in a Mountain Environment" was Community Action Treks & Community Action Nepal. It apparently uses tourism for the economic and cultural benefit of local communities, as well as providing health and education services.
