Develop a Sankhuwasabha Education Scholarship Foundation (SESF) Newsletter
Step:
1
Tejanath would like to develop a newsletter that could be sent online to sponsors of children and other interested parties to update on the latest news and developments. For this task, we are looking for a volunteer to develop the first edition of this newsletter. We need to also decide what types of information should be featured-maybe a story about the difference a sponsorship has made in the life of a child, or information about a child who needs a sponsor.
Tejanath will be emailing me information that can be used for the stories-anyone willing to work on this?

Hi,
Here is a sample newsletter from the Salvation Army related to child sponsorship. May be a good place to start. This is a very simple one, but the sample letters and notes from the director, could be a possible idea.

Hello and welcome to the Khandbari village! I would love for you to help us with the newsletter. I guess the first thing we need to do is decide what information should be included-perhaps you could create a template using Barb's example as a guide? We could then adjust it based on what information Tejanath would like to share for this first edition.
Tejanath would you please email Grace a copy of the logo for SESF? If you want to post updates/stories to include here, we can get volunteers to help with editing as well. If you have new pictures you would like Grace to use, can you email them?
Regards-
Jennifer
Hi!
I'll get started with the template first using Barb's example. I'll do my best to get it out by next week.
Cheers,
Grace
Dear Neighbour
Thanks for your interest
Tejanath
Hi Tejanath and Jennifer,
Really sorry for taking so long to prepare the newsletter sample.
A work project cropped up at the last minute and took up entire weeks. Have been busy busy busy.
Anyway, here is a really rough draft of how I imagine the newsletter will look like.
It's really basic, and I'll be refining it and adding more page elements to make it more complete.
Do let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements.
It would be extremely helpful if we could get some high resolution photos for the newsletter. Currently, the photo I'm using for the masthead is a photo I took in Indonesia of local kids. Would be great if we could get contributions for a replacement photo.
PS: I've attached the test page as a jpg file. Let me know if you have problems receiving or opening the file.
Cheers!
Grace
Grace-
That is beautiful! I love it.
Tejanath-do you have high resolution pictures that you would be able to email to Grace? We also need you to help with content for the first newsletter. Can you think of what information you would like to include? I wonder if Andy may have a camera with him during his visit and you could ask him to take some for you?
Grace-thank you again, you have done a great job!
Jennifer
Dear Gennifer and Grace
I could not open the draft of the newsletter.
What happened
I did not know
Please write to me
Tejanath
Tejanath-
I zipped it up and sent to your email. Let me know if you still are not able to access it.

One of our NABUUR Volunteer Mr. Andrew Blake is coming to Khandbari on coming Wednesday.I will tell him to take such big resolution picture and will send you vial mail.
I wish the news letter could help us to promote individual sponsorship program. So i thin We should include

Dear Tejanath,
I'll include the information as you suggested. Is it alright if I use the information as provided on the SESF website? I might summarise the information a little to make it a little more readable in the newsletter. Will try to come up with the next draft asap.
Cheers,
Grace
I think that would be fine. We've got plenty of information around-
Check the www.sesf.weebly.com site
The FAQ still needs an update there from Barb's suggestions, but overall the information you need is there.
Thanks for your help!
