Village facts

  • Himalaya Higher Secondary School is located in Khandbari Bazaar in the Sankhuwasabha District of eastern Nepal.

  • Himalaya Higher Secondary School is one of the oldest government schools of this district. The school was founded in 1950, originally as a Primary school, and then in 1961 became a Secondary school.

  • There are many different castes living in Khandbari - Brahmin, Ksheri, Rai, Limbo, Taming, Newars, and Dalit. There is also a mixture of religions, with most being either Hindus or Buddhists.

  • All extra curricular activities are run under the leadership of School Junior Red Cross Circle, with guidance from teachers.
