Baby Supply Kits

Last month, there were 18 babies welcomed into the world at Arrow-Web Hospital. Because these babies are born into poverty, many new mothers do not have access to the basic supplies needed to keep their newborns healthy. Young mothers may not know what types of supplies their new baby will need.

Arrow-Web Hospital would like to provide all new mothers with a basic baby supply kit when they leave the hospital to help them get started. For this task, we would like to establish a basic supply of these kits for the hospital.

Each kit should contain the following new items:

2 receiving blankets (cotton or flannel)
5 cloth diapers
4 diaper pins
2 baby socks
1 gentle soap (packaged)
2 undershirts (cotton)
2 gowns (cotton)

We are hoping to find a group who can make these locally to keep a constant supply at the hospital to minimize cost, but for anyone who wants to contribute personally-every 1 or more of these kits we contribute to the hospital will help a new mother and her baby.

One of the things that I have mentioned to Paul in the Jinja Central village and also to Bramuel is about exploring the feasibility of having the girls at Paul's vocational training center sew and supply some of the items for these kits-we are hoping to explore this further in terms of cost for supplies and shipping. This is something that might benefit both villages though if it works out.

This is great ideas,Mary I think this is possible we can we ca get this thing in locally in Nairobi.

I think we can get cheap cotton clothes from India and china because i think they are the leading cloth manufactures in the world..if u want i will contact some clothing company near my area....
